Cabinet and Furniture Refinishing Information
Now doing projects for you! And I promise no drinking will be involved!
I have a lot of experience over the last 10 years refinishing cabinetry and furniture. I have experimented with many different kinds of paint and products and have found a tested and true method, using high quality paint and primer and a focused concentration on prep to make sure that the refinished products will hold up to use.
There is a lot of joy to be found in taking something old and making it new, and I would love to help you take your cabinetry or favorite piece of furniture and give it a fresh updated look.

My Process:
I swear by Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel coupled with Zinsser BIN Shellac Primer. These have been by far the best products I have tried for durability and ease of use. All of my own furniture and cabinetry have been done using these products.
Prepwork is key! Without proper prep, the subject is likely to peel, and not to be as durable. I make sure every project I touch is properly sanded, cleaned, primed with a high-quality bonding primer, and then sanded in between every coat for a pristine finish. For most folks this is the most daunting and time-consuming part of the job, but it is essential that it is done properly for a finish that will last years.

We sadly had a house fire next to this room before I could hang the doors back up. It would have been beautiful and it was hard to see days of work destroyed.

The owner replaced the sink cabinet as it was in rough condition on the bottom. But the rest of the doors are hung, just awaiting hardware!

The upper cabinets were taken out and replaced with a bar. This is still a work in progress. I traveled to Atlanta to do this project, and the rest of the kitchen will be done soon!
